Kirbyville Online translates to a Community connected. KOL is staffed by your friends and neighbors who volunteer their time to insure that access to the world through today's technology is available to all citizens of the Kirbyville area.

Kirbyville Online provides a communications link between the citizens and government, the community and organizations and the schools and the community. Utilizing the Internet we can provide you with local news and weather and a Calendar of Events. The KOL Web Site also provides information on available jobs, a classified/barter site and has Bulletin Board capability for threaded conversation on the Internet for individuals and groups.

Kirbyville Online provides free Internet access from computer workstations at six Public Access Sites in the community. KOL also provides public Training Programs in using Computers and the Internet, as well as distance learning capabilities to help citizens improve work skills. In addition, On-line Classes featuring a variety of courses are also available through KOL either free or at a reduced cost.

In short, Kirbyville Online has created a telecommunications network that uses current and emerging computer technology to help bridge the gap between rural Texas and the World.

Be a KOL Volunteer
The success of the Kirbyville Online Community Network will take the efforts and talents of many people. Training will be available for all who want to help. As a volunteer, you can take advantage of On-line classes on a variety of subjects free of charge. This can allow you to develop your job skills or just stay on top of emerging technology. KOL is a non-profit organization that needs your financial support to insure the continued success of this valuable community asset. Initially our funding has been primarily provided by local community organizations and a grant from the Telecommunication Infrastructure Fund. The grant funds will end in September of 2002. We don't intend to look toward further government funding, therefore your support is vital in order to continue to offer the present level of public services.
